Pre-Departure Training for Workers Being Deployed to Thailand
Working abroad involves more than simply preparing documents and arranging worker placement. For Soukchay, it also means preparing workers physically, mentally, linguistically, and with essential life skills. We place strong emphasis on comprehensive pre-departure training to ensure that every Soukchay worker is fully prepared to adapt, work efficiently and safely, and achieve success in the destination country.

To ensure the readiness, legal compliance, and safety of all workers before traveling to work in Thailand, the company has established a comprehensive preparation system with the following procedures and requirements:
Step 1: Worker Registration and Preparation
1. Registration and Document Collection: All workers are required to report to the staff at the center to receive an identification badge displaying their full name, work unit, and designated workplace in Thailand.
2. Health Screening: The company will conduct health screening, including pregnancy testing for female workers and drug screening, under the supervision of the center’s staff to ensure workers are physically prepared before departure.
3. Document and Employment Agreement Signing: Workers will receive a detailed briefing and sign the relevant employment verification documents and binding agreements for placement in Thailand in accordance with the official MOU system.
Step 2: Worker Training
All workers will receive training and essential information to help them live and work effectively in Thailand, including:
1. Detailed information on working hours, daily and monthly wages, overtime (OT) rates, and various employee benefits.
2. An overview of estimated monthly expenses, including MOU-related deductions, social security contributions, accommodation costs, life insurance premiums, and the estimated net income after deductions.
3. Training in service skills and basic workplace practices to build awareness and understanding of workers’ responsibilities. Workers are expected to understand their duties, demonstrate enthusiasm and creativity, be observant and honest, take responsibility for their work, communicate and coordinate effectively, and maintain strict punctuality.
4. Training on personal hygiene, workplace safety, and proper professional appearance in accordance with workplace regulations, including wearing uniforms and avoiding shorts or sleeveless shirts. Workers are also trained to maintain polite and respectful behavior, demonstrate good manners, and carefully safeguard customers’ and employers’ property.
5. Training on workplace rules, prohibited activities, roles and responsibilities, and appropriate conduct when working with Thai employers. Workers will also be informed of health-related restrictions applicable to employment, including medical conditions that may affect their ability to work, as well as the prohibition of involvement with illegal drugs.
6. Training on unacceptable behavior, including theft, property damage, fighting or causing disturbances, the use or distribution of illegal drugs, bringing alcoholic beverages into the workplace, and smoking while performing work duties.
7. Training on leave and resignation procedures, including an explanation of employment benefits and entitlements after completing one year of employment, as well as the procedures to follow when a worker wishes to resign.
8. Guidance on opening a bank account and procedures for transferring money back to Lao PDR.
In addition to the procedures outlined above, during their stay at the training center, Soukchay Employment Service also provides the following welfare benefits and services:
1. Transportation Service: Free transportation between the Southern Bus Terminal, Northern Bus Terminal, and railway station and the designated accommodation and training center.
2. Accommodation Service: Free accommodation that is comfortable, clean, and safe.
3. Food and Drinking Water Service: Free provision of clean, hygienic meals and drinking water throughout the training period.
4. Uniform Service: Each worker will receive one uniform free of charge to wear during their journey to Thailand.
5. Travel and Border Assistance Service: Transportation and assistance with border procedures for entry into Thailand, MOU card processing, and worker placement with employers.
Soukchay Skills Development Center Sole Co., Ltd.

Soukchay Skills Development Center Sole Co., Ltd. is one of the key businesses under the “Soukchay Group,” established to support and implement the policies of the Party and Government in building and developing a modern, highly skilled Lao workforce.
We are committed to serving as a central platform for enhancing workforce capabilities, creating employment opportunities, and promoting stable career development with sustainable income for Lao workers across the country.
To support the growth of the labor market, the company has established strategic cooperation plans with both domestic and international partners as follows:
1. Cooperation in Training and Workforce Placement
We cooperate with contractual partners nationwide to provide vocational training at Soukchay Skills Development Center. Our training programs are designed to align closely with the needs of the industrial sector and the actual labor market.
Upon completion of their training, trainees will be placed in employment in partner countries according to the agreed timelines, training programs, and employment arrangements.
2. Cooperation with Foreign Investors
We seek to attract foreign investors to invest in industries and related sectors in the Lao PDR, with Soukchay Skills Development Center serving as a starting point for establishing a workforce development system that is directly connected to the industrial sector while simultaneously supporting human resource development.
At present, one of the major challenges is that many graduates still lack practical skills. This requires employers to invest additional time and resources in retraining, contributing to unemployment and employment below the required standards.
The goal of Soukchay Skills Development Center is:
“To integrate vocational training with the industrial sector in every aspect, enabling trainees to learn and gain practical experience through real-world practice and transition directly into the labor market upon completion of their training.”
1. Building Practical Experience
Learners will receive both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical training. They will gain an understanding of technology, production processes, and workplace culture while still studying, reducing the need to start from the beginning when they enter the workforce.
2. Enhancing Trainer Skills
Trainer development is a key factor in delivering high-quality knowledge and skills. Trainers will continuously have access to professional development programs and modern technologies to enhance their teaching capabilities and ensure the highest possible quality of training.
The establishment of these foundations will help ensure that Lao workers possess the skills necessary to support the expansion of the industrial sector. It will also support the Government’s efforts to develop a people-centered economy and create sustainable employment opportunities with good incomes for Lao youth.
Soukchay Skills Development Center is committed to enhancing skills and developing the Lao workforce to meet modern industrial standards at the international level.
