Applicant Eligibility Requirements

Applicants seeking seasonal employment in the Republic of Korea must meet the following requirements:

1. Must have resided in an officially designated recruiting district for at least 1 year.
2. Must be a Lao national and have been registered in the household registration of the designated recruiting district for at least 1 year.
3. Must be 25–39 years old, with applicants required to have reached the full age of 25.
4. Must primarily have experience or an occupation in farming, rice cultivation, or agricultural work.
5. Must have no history of illegal drug use or criminal convictions.
6. Must be able to read and write in Lao.
7. Must have all 10 fingers intact.
8. Must have no tattoos on the hands, arms, or neck.
9. Must have a normal and stable walking ability.
10. Must not have chronic or underlying medical conditions, complications, or require regular medication, and must not have a history of a serious accident requiring surgical bone fixation or metal implants.

Requirements for Female Applicants

1. Minimum height of 150 cm.
2. Weight must not exceed 65 kg.
3. Must not currently be pregnant. Applicants who have given birth must have children aged at least 2 years.

Requirements for Male Applicants

1. Minimum height of 160 cm.
2. Weight must not exceed 80 kg.

Passport Requirements

1. Passport must be clean and undamaged.
2. Passport must have at least 20 months of remaining validity, calculated from the interview date.

Security Deposit and Guarantor Requirements

1. Security Deposit: An original land title deed (Chanote) covering a land area of at least 300 square meters.
2. Guarantor: Must be 35 years of age or older.

Interview Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicants must have no history of illegal entry into or exit from the Republic of Korea and must never have previously been denied a Korean visa, including any person registered in the same household registration.
2. Applicants must have no history of changing their first name, surname, or date of birth, including any person registered in the same household registration.
3. Applicants must be able to work for the period required by the employer, generally 5–8 months.
4. The guarantor must have a stable occupation and remain residing in Laos while the worker is employed in the Republic of Korea.
5. The document processing period is approximately 1–4 months before departure.
6. New workers: The service fee is USD 2,200. This may be paid in full before departure or financed through a financial institution.
7. Returning workers: For workers returning to a previous employer they previously worked for through Soukchay, the service fee is USD 1,975. This may be paid in full before departure or financed through a financial institution.
8. Applicants must register their names for seasonal employment in the Republic of Korea at the district labor office in their place of residence.

Medical Conditions That May Prevent Travel for Employment in the Republic of Korea

According to the stated requirements, applicants with the following conditions are not eligible:

1. Hepatitis B
2. Diabetes
3. Hypertension
4. Asthma
5. Allergic conditions
6. Tuberculosis
7. HIV/AIDS
8. Syphilis
9. Color blindness
10. Gastrointestinal disorders
11. Heart disease
12. Spinal nerve compression
13. Anemia
14. Epilepsy

Documents Required on the Interview Date

Applicants must bring the following documents:

1. Original passport and previous passport, if available.
2. Three copies of the passport (information page only).
3. Copy of the household registration and previous household registration book, if available.
4. Original land title deed and one photocopy.
5. Six 3 × 4 cm photographs with a white background. Photos must have been taken within the last 3 months and must not be digitally retouched.
